The soft, voluptuous curves of the landscapes and seascapes in Elizabeth’s earlier works gradually transformed into a fascination with the female figure, mirroring the movements of the mountains and waves. Many paintings in this collection began as sketches from live drawing sessions, which are also included in the Sketches collection.
