The joie de vivre and sensuality of confidence, the female form, and the playful mysticism of music and theatre have always been at the heart of my art.”
Danish–Armenian artist Elizabeth Romhild creates from a place where heritage, travel, and imagination meet. Her unique background and international life have infused her work with a distinct voice that is bold, feminine, and deeply expressive.
Elizabeth began her career at 26 years old, painting realistic portraits, before moving into seascapes and landscapes. Over time, her artistic language evolved into bolder, more abstract interpretations of the female form, both on canvas and in bronze. Each phase has marked a new step in her journey of self-discovery, reflecting her continuous search for depth and meaning.
Today, Elizabeth’s work has come full circle. She turns inward, drawing inspiration from her own soul and experiences, transforming them into luminous tones, vibrant forms, and sculptural gestures. Her creativity extends beyond painting and sculpture into design — from fine jewelry and luxury tableware to mosaics and bespoke collaborations. Each piece carries her unmistakable artistic sensitivity, blurring the lines between fine art and design.
With a career spanning more than four decades, Elizabeth Romhild continues to expand boundaries and challenge herself, offering a body of work that is both ever-evolving and true to her essence.
Based in Bangkok since 1988, her work is held in private collections across Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Italy, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and the United States.
